The Ubatuba Cambuci Pepper, known for its distinct shape, hails from Brazil. This pepper is not only visually appealing but also packed with culinary potential. Its vibrant green to red color and unique shape makes it a standout ingredient in various dishes. With an estimated SHU of only 5,000, this pepper can be enjoyed by most people. This variety was a delightful addition to our garden in 2024. Pepper sizes for us were larger than the Bishop’s Crown variety but with a little less heat.
This pepper can be utilized in numerous recipes, ranging from sauces to marinades. Its fruity yet spicy notes add depth and intrigue, enhancing everything from grilled meats to vegetarian options.
Start the seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before your last frost date. When transplanting outdoors, ensure they are given plenty of sunlight and warm temperatures.
