How to Use
For grilling, smoking, or roasting, the seasoning not only adds flavor but also helps create a “bark” (a flavorful crust).
Application Ratio: A general guideline is to use 1 tablespoon of rub for each pound of meat. Preparation: Use paper towels to dry the meat thoroughly, which helps the spices stick better.
The “Binder” Trick: To enhance the seasoning’s adherence, apply a thin layer of olive oil, mustard, or hot sauce before adding the rub.
Technique: Use the “two-hand method”—one hand to sprinkle the seasoning and the other to pat or massage it into the meat.
Resting Time: Allow the seasoned meat to rest for at least 15–30 minutes before cooking, which allows the flavors to meld. For a deeper flavor, refrigerate it for several hours or overnight.
Sprinkle or Add to Prepared Meals (no meat required)
Vegetables: Toss potatoes, corn on the cob, or carrots in oil and seasoning before roasting or grilling to achieve a smoky finish.
Snacks: Sprinkle on popcorn, roasted nuts, or tater tots for enhanced flavor.
Breakfast: Mix a pinch into scrambled eggs or sprinkle it over a breakfast hash consisting of potatoes and peppers.
Dips & Sauces: Stir 1–2 teaspoons into ranch dressing, sour cream, or mayonnaise to make a quick BBQ-flavored dip.
Comfort Food: Add a tablespoon to mac and cheese sauce before baking for a richer taste.
